So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Ferrera. I remember playing with him when we were both children, many years ago. I also have fond memories of his parents. Best wishes to all. Sal Pluchino Ph.D. The Pluchino family

Sal was a wonderful and powerful force in Bay Ridge and Brooklyn. He benefitted thousands of lives in real ways. God bless him!

Dr. Ferrera was an inspiration and a source of humor. As a 3rd generation Xaverian freshman, Dr. Ferrera, unbeknownst to me was fresh from a fundraising lunch with my alumni Uncle. During our lunch, I was called to the President's Office immediately. This normally meant immediate expulsion. I sat in the main office, desperately trying to figure out in my mind what I could have done and waiting for my Mom and Dad to appear. I was called into his office, awaiting my fate... It was a joke between my Uncle and Dr. Ferrera. I think now at almost 42, that was the start of my hypertension. But, it's true Brooklyn humor at its finest. May you rest in peace and God hold you in the palm of his hand for your service. Dr. S. Jelen

So sorry to hear about Sal's passing! He was instrumental in Xaverian's growth and educational standards. Also just a good person always ready to lend an ear. RIP! Condolences to his family.

Dear Ferrera Family, Sal had such a positive impact and influence on so many people during his St.A's coaching years and senior administration at Xaverian High School. He was a special person and he will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend. Charlie Gilroy and Family

We are so very sorry for the passing of Sal, who were are grateful to have met when he worked as Executive Director at The Child School years ago. Sal was a dynamic leader with a big heart. His work is now done. God Speed to Sal and sending love to his family.
