Rose (Perrotta) Scognamiglio was born in Sunset Park Brooklyn to immigrant parents Francesco and Lucia Perrotta. She always said she was the result of the happy reunion of her parents because her father had been in the US working and sending his earnings back to Italy to support his wife and young son. Soon he sent for her mother and brother Saverio, to come to America. Rose was a dedicated wife to her husband, Frank and loving mother to her children Carmela, Neil and Roland. She welcomed her children's spouses and partners, Joe, Susan and Stacy with a heart full of love. She was a proud grandmother to Adam, Frankie, Joseph and Nicole and Adam's wife Sarah and their children, Sophie and Jordana. Rose enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren on holidays, Sunday dinners, birthdays and sleepovers which would almost always end with breakfasts of pancakes or eggs and bacon or sometimes afternoon desserts of homemade zeppole. She enjoyed having coffee and cake in the afternoons with her neighbors and was a wonderful friend. Rose and her husband, through Catholic Charities, became foster parents and enjoyed every moment of that time encouraging young children. She will be missed by all.
