Obituary For Michelina D'Onofrio

Michelina D’Onofrio of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 91 on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

She was born in Conca dei Marini, Italy, in 1932 to Domenico and Maria Luigina Gambardella and immigrated to America in July of 1947. She attended night school where she met the love of her life Vincent. They wed on October 24, 1953 and recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Michelina was dearly loved by her children, Harry, Angela and her husband Tom, Gina and her husband Nicky, Anna and her husband Brian, Connie and her husband Rick.

Michelina was the proud grandmother of Christina, Danny, Nicholas, Diana, Vinny, Marissa, Jason, Brian, Tina, Michele, Vincent, Gianna, Ricky, and Gregory.

Michelina was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren and was the beloved “Aunt Mimi” to her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Michelina is remembered by all as a loving, generous woman with a beautiful smile. She took great pride in her family and home, where the door was always open, the food was always plentiful, and there was always room for one more at the table.
