It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maria Rosa Papallo, who departed this life at the age of 94.

Born in Calabria, Italy, in 1930, Maria Rosa lived a life full of love, resilience, and warmth. She was the devoted wife of the late Pasquale Papallo, a loving mother to Caterina Lombardo, Rocco Papallo, and Antonio Papallo, and a cherished mother-in-law to Giuliana Papallo and Elizabeth Papallo. She was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She felt blessed to care for this large family, being the oldest sister of her siblings, Immacolata Cotrona, Rosa Cotrona, Cathy Randazzo, Elena Fuda, Vincenzo Fuda, Anthony Fuda, and Aldo Dioni (Murruni). This made her the proud aunt to all of her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Her love for this entire family was boundless and unconditional—a steady presence of strength, kindness, and wisdom in all their lives.

Maria’s life was centered around her family. She loved deeply, gave generously, and found great joy in caring for those around her. Her home was always filled with the aromas of home-cooked meals and baked goods, where the door was always open and the table always full.

She will be remembered not only for her delicious meals and warm hugs but also for her fierce love, unshakable strength, and the deep pride she took in her family. Her legacy lives on in every recipe she shared, every lesson she taught, and every loving memory she created.

She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.

    Ricorderò per sempre Maria per tutto quello che ha fatto per me e per la mia famiglia. Il suo cuore grande, la sua bontà, il suo amore per noi. Non la ringrazieremo mai abbastanza per tutto ciò che ha fatto nella sua vita per noi. Il ricordo più bello della mia infanzia era aspettarla arrivare dall'America ed aspettare quella valigia piena di regali, vestiti, scarpe, cioccolate, e colori per me e per i miei fratelli. I regalo più belli ricevuti nella mia infanzia e non solo sono stati i suoi. Ricordo con piacere tutte le nostre uscite e la portavo con piacere a fare la spesa e non si usciva mai dal negozio se prima non pensava a comprare il cibo più buono per poi Giorgetta prepararlo e mangiare tutti insieme.. non ci sono parole abbastanza per ringraziarla..che Dio gli dà la vita eterna..ti abbraccio forte ovunque tu sia..per sempre nel mio cuore ❤️
