Lucille was a very caring lady. Born in Manhattan at the height of the Depression in 1932, her father and mother worked tirelessly to put food on the table and a roof over her head. Lucille never forgot this and carried that hard work ethic through her life.

A widow at only 28 years of age in 1960, during a place in time many women were told to stay in the home, Lucille picked up the pieces in her life, went to work at Manufactures Hanover Trust’s Bond division in Manhattan for over 26 years, eventually reaching the position of Area Supervisor.

It was never easy for Lucille. Always putting the needs of others ahead of her own, she worked many long hours, only to come home, clean and maintain a 3-story house, cook, wash, and help care for her ailing Father, Alexander and Brother, Alfonso – scarred from World War II. Her sister Mary helped to brighten her day with jokes about love and life. All pre-deceased.

She lived in the very same house since 1948, despite all her family and friends moving away from the neighborhood.

Her love of animals was profound. She took care of countless cats and many dogs as well in her close to 92 years on Earth. She cared for them more than herself.

She was loved by her family and neighbors. Lucille’s knowledge of movie stars, films, and music from the first half of the 20th century could rival any encyclopedia.

Lucille leaves behind her nephew Al, his wife Janine, daughter Valentina, her niece Rosemary, her husband and two daughters.
