July 31, 2023, Angelina (Lina) Vigorito passed away peacefully at her home in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, New York.

Lina was born September 12, 1930 in Sant’Angelo a Fasanella in the Salerno Province of Italy to Michele Barone and Arcangela Calandriello and married her beloved husband Mario in 1954.

Lina joined her husband in Caracas Venezuela in 1955 and later immigrated to the USA with her husband and two toddler boys in 1960.

Lina was a gifted seamstress but chose to sew custom dresses and alterations for family, friends, and acquaintances while raising her children and grandchildren and preparing delicious Italian family meals. Lina was gentle and sweet and adored the children in her life especially those blessed to have her as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Lina Vigorito is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mario; a sister (Elisa) and brother (Antonio) living in Italy; 3 sons (Louis, Michael & Mario) and a daughter (Antonietta) and their spouses; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angela.

Visitation services is at Aievoli Funeral Home, Brooklyn, NY, Wednesday, August 2, 2023 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The mass of Christian burial is Thursday, August 3, 2023, 9:45 am at Shrine Church of St. Bernadette, Brooklyn. Internment follows immediately at Resurrection Cemetery in Pleasant Plains, Staten Island.
